ROUGHLY 25% OF THE OXYGEN THAT ROUGHLY 25% OF THE OXYGEN THAT WE BREATHE COMES FROM THE AMAZON WE BREATHE COMES FROM THE AMAZON RAIN FOREST. RAIN FOREST. EQUALLY IMPORTANT, THIS IS A EQUALLY IMPORTANT, THIS IS A MAJOR CARBON SINK. MAJOR CARBON SINK. IT’S ACTUALLY MITIGATING CLIMATE IT’S ACTUALLY MITIGATING CLIMATE CHANGE BY TAKING SOME OF THE CHANGE BY TAKING SOME OF THE CARBON POLLUTION WE’RE PUTTING CARBON POLLUTION WE’RE PUTTING INTO THE ATMOSPHERE AND TAKING INTO THE ATMOSPHERE AND TAKING IT BACK OUT OF THE ATMOSPHERE IT BACK OUT OF THE ATMOSPHERE AND BURYING IT. AND BURYING IT. WHAT WE’RE DOING NOW IS TAKING WHAT WE’RE DOING NOW IS TAKING WHAT WAS A SINK OF CARBON, WHAT WAS A SINK OF CARBON, SOMETHING WAS DRAWING DOWN SOMETHING WAS DRAWING DOWN CARBON FROM THE ATMOSPHERE AND CARBON FROM THE ATMOSPHERE AND TURNING IT INTO A SOURCE, TURNING IT INTO A SOURCE, PUTTING THAT CARBON BACK INTO PUTTING THAT CARBON BACK INTO THE ATMOSPHERE, AXELCCELERATEING THE ATMOSPHERE, AXELCCELERATEING BUILDUP OF CARBON DIEOXIDE IN TH BUILDUP OF CARBON DIEOXIDE IN TH ATMOSPHERE WORSENING CLIMATE ATMOSPHERE WORSENING CLIMATE CHANGE. CHANGE. SO WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THERE SO WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THERE ARE POLICIES THAT INCENTIVIZE ARE POLICIES THAT INCENTIVIZE THE MAINTENANCE OF THE AMAZON THE MAINTENANCE OF THE AMAZON RAIN FOREST AND PREVENT THE RAIN FOREST AND PREVENT THE ONGOING DEFORESTATION AND ONGOING DEFORESTATION AND DEVELOPMENT THAT’S DESTROYING DEVELOPMENT THAT’S DESTROYING IT. 1. How about all the countries protecting this very important part of our planet?! Where are all the Presidents' actions now??

  2. Why would they even be allowed to do this in the first place.. like why aren’t they going after the people that are starting them and investigate it and lock up the ones who are guilty?

  3. People are so painfully stupid, I bet 1/2 the commenters don't even know that plants take in/inhale CO2 and give off/exhale oxygen

  4. This dude is a clown🤡🤡🤡 all the oxygen produced there doesn’t leave Bc all The animals and bugs breath that if you think I’m wrong look it up and yes this is also a proven fact so idk what buddy is talking about and I bet the earth could restore its self if the earth made a ozone layer it can do it again

  5. If the netherlands is able to grow food for their people while using less land, same for Japan. Why Brazil cannot do it? why to burn down lungs of the planet? someone got really greedy.

  6. The Amazon is burning because the world eats so much meat.
I pledge to eat meat 2 times per year and I promise NOT to buy it from Brazil.

We are the solution to the problem.

  9. climate change? we've been documenting the weather for so little time yet people say its global warming? STOP BELIEVING THIS NONSENSE

  10. stay out of brazil business….Let brazilians handle their business in their own courts. These fires are controlled burns, not arson, to create farmland to help the economy. Fix the California fire problem which is arson related first before worrying about brazil fires. Next time brazilians will use chainsaws, bulldozers and machetes and no one will notice.

Assume AGW is 1. real 2, a bad thing. Question: What global climate should we be trying to achieve? warmer, colder, wetter, drier? And how much?
Given we are being asked to spend untold trillions of dollars, and have every human on the planet to change the way they live, I don'y think its unreasonable to ask for a number, a goal. What I find…interesting is I can't find an answer.

Given that I fully admit I'm Not that Bright, please make it a simple answer. What's the goal?

This guy has been asking the same questions for decades. Here he is in 2017 telling us that he's not that bright.

  12. FAKE NEWS, the biggest in the world!! Come on guys is a prank. It’s all lie! Ask Nasa, nothing happpening, it’ very old videos 1998, pictures from 30 years ago. Just do your own research! FAKE NEWS!

  13. The deforestation will eventually cripple the hydrological cycle and finish off the jungle.
In the Amazon, loggers rip off the big bucks, and then the ranchers and farmers clear, burn and deplete the soil which is already the poorest and most infertile in the world. When one cuts down the forest, it is irretrievably lost. The humus layer is all too soon washed out. Hence, the evil of destroying the Amazon rainforest will have been exponentially increased.
Buying beef or timber that originated in the Amazon is irresponsible.
