I HAD TO HANG WITH SAILORS ALL DAY, WORKOUT ON A BEACH AND LEARN WHAT IT TAKES TO WIN THE AMERICA’S CUP, BUT IT WASN’T ALL SMOOTH SAILING. TAKE A LOOK.>>ORACLE TEAM U.S.A. IS A TWO-TIME WINNER OF THE AMERICA CUP GOING FOR A — SPEED AND SERIOUS PREPARATION. IT CAN BE DESCRIBED AS NASCAR ON THE SEA. MORE THAN 50 MILES PER HOUR. IN FORWARD FOR THESE SAILORS TO BE FASTER, THEY NEED TO BE FITTER. AND THAT BEGINS WITH EARLY MORNING WORKOUT. I DECIDED TO JOIN THE GANG FOR THEIR BI WEEKLY BEACH WORKOUT THAT INVOLVES CARDIO, AGILITY AND A VIEW OUT OF A MOVIE. THE HOUR WORKOUT BEGINS WITH A SWIM, A SPRINT, THEN A RUN UP WHAT THEY CALL KILAMANJARO. AFTER COMPLETION THEY DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN.>>THIS IS NO JOKE.>>I CLEARLY COULDN’T KEEP UP BUT I KEPT MY COOL BAYWATCH STYLE. NEXT UP, TIME FOR A LESSON IN THE JAM WIGYM WITH COOPER, ONE OF THE TEAM’S YOUNGEST. I QUICKLY LEARNED IT ALL ABOUT UPPER BODY STRENGTH.>>YOU MUST BE IN THE BEST SHAPE NOW THAT OUR WORKOUT IS COMPLETE IT’S TIME TO SET SAIL. I TOOK A QUICK TRIP ON THE BOAT TO GET TO THE SAIL BOAT. THINGS DIDN’T GO QUITE AS PLANNED. MOMENTS BEFORE I STEPPED ON BOARD, THE BOAT CAP SIZES.>>SO IT FLIPPED ON ITS SIDE. BUT EVERYONE IS OKAY?
