On November 27th at around 5:30 p.m.
we had a female walking past King George Sky train Station. She was approached by
a man who allegedly attempted to steal her phone from her hand. A struggle
ensued and the man allegedly threw her to the ground, getting on top and
grabbing the phone from her grip. He got up and left, and the female followed. He
then allegedly shoved her into the bushes before fleeing. Fortunately, we had
a couple good Samaritans stay around to attend to her aid and hang around to speak
with police. Surrey RCMP later attended an unrelated call and discovered that
they were dealing with our suspect. The suspect’s been identified as 41-year-old
Aaron Sutherland of no fixed address who is well known to police.
He’s been arrested and charged with one count of robbery and he’ll be in Surrey
Provincial Court on December 11th at 9:30 a.m.
