  1. It's probably more a case of United States reports the truth whereas other countries hide it. But, when life is so devalued that the baby can be killed right up until the minute it's delivered, legally, then there is no real urgency in saving a life.

  2. This should be enough of an indication that something or things we consume and are exposed to have increased and in turn, has caused this level of such a statistical problem. America is the problem and us citizens are the victims. But mainstream media will never address the REAL causes. Keep dancing around the facts, though.

  3. We have the worst medical system in the world. Incompetent doctors that over charge for service. Saw a report a couple days ago that stated that doctors pay attention to what a patient says for 17 seconds.
We don't need tax reform we need health care reform. Those documents you sign letting them off the hook for screw ups need to be made illegal as well.

  4. Cuba has better population health statistics than the US. It’s what the Republicans call a choice.

  5. Obesity on the rise in U.S over last 30 yrs accounts for 2/3 of these women's deaths aka hypertension, high blood pressure.

  6. I dont take medical advice from news papers. Also, everything they mention here was discussed with us and handled very well when we had a baby in Wisconsin 4 months ago.

  7. That's because the rest of the developed world has Universal Healthcare. Americans are too dumb to want it. Might upset their billionaire Corporate bosses and lead to happiness. Fox News wouldn't like that and Daddy only watches Fox so he can stay nice and dumb.

  8. Obstetricians malpractice insurance is extremely high – so high that not many good ones are still in the profession. They can be liable for years after a child is born for some obscure problem and I think U.S. tort law is responsible. Everyone is "sue happy" and wants to win the courtroom lottery.

  9. The oligarchs who control things in the US, realize people are a liability. So they make it either too expensive or too dangerous to reproduce or survive health problems. It's called "population control".

  10. Better medical care for expectant mother isn't going to come by spending more money on training, it's going to come by increasing quality control measures and religiously adhering to quality standards the way other industries have done so to remain competitive. Hospitals have a different set of competitive challenges than manufacturers, but they could take a page out of the book of manufacturers who have turned supreme care to quality as their number one focus, like Toyota for example. Or you can go industry wide and look at how the aviation industry DEMANDS ZERO incidents regarding airline saftey and has worked to develope multiple levels of quality screening so NOTHING gets past the quality control system and causes a catastrophic incident. This is an issue that has to do with QUALITY of care not the level of care. The level of care hasn't dropped off since the 1990s. This is about lazily cutting corners and doing things quickly and without due dilegence because it's easier for the hosptal, the insurance industry, and a medical establishment that hasn't held itself up to measures of success that most competative industries in the world have to.

  11. i dont think it has to do qith healthcare i think its cause lots of woman are obese, never exercised a day in their life eat mcdonalds and soda, smoke drink and do drugs plus lots of women are having kids alot older!

  12. Poor reporting and very poor comparison between countries as the great difference in the total population, particularly those giving birth, is not reported. The ratio that is important is # of deaths (or whatever) per # of deliveries. Simple math and simple logic.

  13. I was shocked when during my second delivery, the delivery nurse laid her body across my stomach to help things along. Is this an acceptable practice?
